Our education mission is to convey to students of all ages, levels, and backgrounds an understanding of the mechanics and rudiments of music, thus building a lifelong relationship with the arts not solely as musicians, but as creative, inspired people.
GROUP CLASSES!
Folk Band School
Intermediate Level - Teacher Anna Blanton - $100/student (5 classes total)
This is an intermediate class designed to be similar to 'Rock School' but for the folk genres including bluegrass, old time, and celtic. The is a student led and teacher coached ensemble for a minimum of 3 players and up to 5 players. This class will meet for 5 weeks for one hour. The course focuses on building ensemble skills such as band member communication, backing, soloing, musical feel, rehearsal techniques and etiquette, tune and song structure, and basic theory needed to play in a group setting. Other fun aspects include selecting your ensemble's name and a performance opportunity at the end of the course.
Prerequisites:
- Students should be able to play a few tunes in G, D, and A, and be willing to learn by ear. The teacher will ask for a list from each student prior to the first class.
- Ages 15 and up (unless approved by the instructor in advance)
- Have an overall good control and understanding of one's instrument.
- Students must commit to all 5 classes.

Payments can be made online by logging into your student portal and paying via PayPal. You can also pay via check or Venmo @Kentuckianamusiccenter. Please make checks out to Kentuckiana Music Center and place in the lock box by the front door. It is very important you include the student and teacher names in the notes line.
All lessons are paid monthly due by the 1st of the month. A $10 late fee will be applied for lessons that are paid after the 15th.
CANCELLATION POLICY
Since regular attendance is essential to musical growth, a commitment to lessons/classes is expected when a student enrolls. We do not issue refunds or makeup lessons except for severe crisis, such as a death in the family. If an instructor cancels a lesson, you may receive a makeup lesson, future lesson credit, or a refund.
RECITAL OPPORTUNITIES!
The store hosts a recital every late spring and fall/winter for our private students.
